Nice list. I definitely identify with number one - and as someone with five blogs on the tumblr community, i think we are all 'sharing' bloggers, however with 'tumblraity'(popularity) and number or reblogs, you find yourself posting items you know will drum up reblogs and followers to increase tumblarity postings...

[...] Let me start off by saying that I’m a movabletype/typepad girl. This blog is wordpress powered so I’m learning as I go here. I really wanted to put this on wordpress because I wanted to be able to understand both software platforms. Why did I decide to start writing this? Several reasons actually. I have a blog that I write on like every two weeks on MySpace. I know, but I love MySpace! It’s really a personal blog for my friends and family. It doesn’t have the same functionality of typical blogs though. It lacks rss feeds, blogrolls, custom design, and just being involved in the greater blogosphere as a whole. I read a blog called disambiguity religiously and after this post, I decided that I was a sharing blogger. This is me: [...]

hey Michael :)

I have to say that until I read your note, I'd never *heard* of media ecologists!

I'm reading up tho' (http://www.media-ecology.org/mecology/)

It's true to say I was making some pretty big generalisations tho!

Hei, Drew M,

If you want to put ads in your blog, all you need is to type adsense in google and you'll find lots of advice on this. Regarding the money, blogging is not supposed to make one rich over night. It takes time, it is like building your own small company: in the beginning, you put money and efforts into it and it pays back only after a time (or never, in some cases). But if you succeed to have a blog that attracts the interest of millions of people, if they come back regularily to check on your new posts, then blogging can make a living. Nevertheless, I would not expect this to happen in the first year of a blog's life.
