Thanks for making us aware of your situation, we to were almost sucked in by this bogus scammer our emails read exactly the same as yours except we were due to purchase a 182 Clio Sport also in Italy very CHEAP!! (£3600) noticed a couple errors and checked the theft & fraud warnings on Piston Heads which led us to google TransCargo Ltd which in turn led us to your report. We cant thank you enough we were so close to losing £3600.

Hopefully other people will get to see this before its too late.

WOW Thanks I was also in the middle of a deal the same as yours, with Antonio Marucco as mentioned in some other replies and the e-mails I recieved are word for word the same except different car, 2004 Audi A4 130 TDi Quattro sport.
This has opened my eyes to this scam, it's a shame there is some many criminals out there getting away with this.

THANKS A LOT! You saved me a lot of money. I am in this exact situation right now. The difference is the product i was going for is a TV. The shipping company was www.expres-d.com. his email was mike02bar@yahoo.co.uk and his exact email was:

it is verry simple, you have to send the money to the shipping company via western union and then you will have to send the payment information . afther you will receive the package and you are pleased with it, the company will transfer the money to my account, i think that they had chosen the western union money transfer because it is faster.
In 24/h from the confirmation you will receive the package to your address.
thanks!

It sounded dodgy. I was thinking why do i have to wire the money to the shipping company? Thats ridiculous. Then i thought let me research and found this article. A person thats already experienced this. Thanks. I have also notified Gumtree. Thanks!!!

This Antonio Marrucco dude tried to sell me a 2003 renault megane for 2,600 , i was a bit iffy with this deal but i showed my mother. i then showed her the transcargo websiite and my mom told me to c if there is a customer service number i can call for the trackin process, we called 118 118 to see if we could get a direct number to call this company. but they couldnt find a number so my mom was bigining to say that she feels this is dodgy so what i done is the address with the piccadilly postcode i typed that in a post code finder and that adress was some other companys address. then i typed in Antonio Maruccos name in google i found this blog , and i wanna say thank u coz i wud have been scammed. And dont you think that its funny that a so called big shipping company requires money through western union !!! . What a c ***

as sad as I am to see everyone having a similar experience to what we had, I'm also glad that this little post is hopefully stopping people from losing their money.

I know when I tried to Google this scam, and this persons name I came up a blank, so the more us who can write about it, the less likely they are to be successful.. hopefully! :)

hi there
thank you very much for this comment.
i was looking for a car myself and this time he is selling a golf gt tdi for £2600 year 2004, so very similar isn't it?
anyway as soon as i found out he is in italy i knew that this is a scam even though he sounded quite convincing.
i checked his name just to confirm my instinct and here we go.
once again thank you for the comment, i am sure it will stop someone from giving him the money.
what is the world coming to...

Hi,
Thanks Leisa. I have recently been in contact with this guy now calling himself Antonio Marucco, but other than that our e-mails match exactly. For some reason it felt wrong when i went to transfer the money so i held off sent e-mails to the 'shipping company' and asked them to call me. Nothing. So i thought lets just try Google...entered his name and details and found your string...i'm sorry that you didn't find this information sooner but thank you for posting it for others to benefit. I can only hope that this guy gets caught some how.

Amazing!!!! Alarm bells rang when payment was to be made to Bolnerg Maurizio. Try typing this into google and you will see he is a low life scammer. Thanks for taking the time to post this information, hopefully it will save some decent soul from being ripped off.
